Welcome to Day 24 of our 25 Days of Giving Thanks project. Yesterday we talked about the blessing of having good neighbors, and how important it is to be a good neighbor. Remember to check on your neighbors this holiday season, especially those that might need a little extra help. If you missed that post, you can find it here: Good Neighbor.
As we start to wind down from our 25 days of Giving Thanks, it occurred to me that I am thankful for Gratitude. Huh? Yes, that’s right. This year, more than any other year, I have seen more people expressing their gratitude for all their blessings. Perhaps it took something like a global pandemic to make us think about our many blessings?
According to a recent article in Forbes, research reveals gratitude can have numerous benefits such as:
- 1. Gratitude opens the door to more relationships.
- 2. Gratitude improves physical health.
- 3. Gratitude improves psychological health.
- 4. Gratitude enhances empathy and reduces aggression.
- 5. Grateful people sleep better.
- 6. Gratitude improves self-esteem.
- 7. Gratitude increases mental strength.
So let’s be grateful for gratitude and keep focusing on what we have versus what we don’t have. Gratitude is a gift, it changes our lives. I wanted to share one other message that I found on Instagram a few months ago. It was written by Leslie Dwight. It really struck home with me.
Wow…
Until next time, keep looking for the goodness around you.
With gratitude,
Denise 🙂
